Attorney support & expert-witness services
Autoloss provides vehicle appraisal reports, depositions and expert-witness testimony for attorneys in diminished value, total loss and other vehicle-value disputes. Fees, retainers and scheduling terms are below, and travel requires advance notice. Autoloss is not a law firm and provides appraisal services only.
All expert-witness fees start at $2500 per testimony. The hourly rates below are charged in addition to that $2500 fee.
Availability
Our availability for travel may be limited. Travel arrangements must be made 60 days in advance. Please call to confirm our availability prior to booking any tickets or accommodations.
Direct Time:
$300 per hour
Includes investigation, conference, research, analysis, travel and reporting. (Both written and oral).
Court Time:
$550 per hour
Includes times spent at trial inclusive of testimony, conference and waiting times. Travel is charged as direct time. All or a portion of the court fees are payable 60 days in advance, as determined by owner.
Deposition:
$2500 minimum
Payable 60 days in advance plus expenses and travel time. Most depositions can be completed by telephone.
Expenses:
Actual Cost
Includes transportation (airfare, taxi, rental car, etc.) lodging, computer charges, telephone, special photo processing and other fees that are required for the case.
Retainer
A retainer in the amount of 80% of anticipated fees and expenses is required 60 days in advance to secure services and hold dates. The full amount of anticipated cost is due if payment is received in less than 1 month of the service date.
It is understood that our services are as an independent professional consultant; that payment for same shall be made promptly and is not contingent upon the results of any legal action, arbitration or settlement; and that costs incurred or the time spent at the demand of other parties to any litigation (including depositions and expenses) will be billed to the party making the demand; but that the responsibility for payment remains with the client. Engagements are subject to Autoloss’s written engagement terms, including its dispute-resolution provisions.
Once we receive your authorization and fee, we will begin work on the assignment. An administrative fee of $1000 will be charged if we are given less than 7 days notice of cancellation.
